AI adoption with 50 % funding in Vienna
Wirtschaftsagentur Wien funds digitalisation projects of Vienna SMEs with 50 % of the costs. Compliance alone counts as a single measure and is not eligible. An AI rollout with clear rules, training and security is exactly what the programme is looking for: processes that run faster and digitally afterwards.
Who it is for
Small and medium-sized companies in any sector that have had a site in Vienna for at least one year.
What we deliver in the project
- Potential analysis and digitalisation plan: which processes benefit from AI, what it brings, what it costs
- An AI workplace for the team, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude for business, set up securely
- Automation of specific processes, for example quotes, incoming e-mail, document filing or an assistant for your own documents
- Rules under the EU AI Act: AI policy, AI inventory, labelling
- AI literacy training for all staff with certificate (Art. 4 AI Act)
- IT security for the new tools: access rights, two-factor sign-in, protection against data leaks
- Project costs (consulting, implementation, training, licences)
- €15,000
- Funding 50 %
- €7,500
- Your share

Projects from €10,000 are eligible. The grant is capped at €50,000, half of €100,000 in project costs.
- The application must be filed before the project starts. Costs only count from the day of the application.
- Wirtschaftsagentur Wien selects competitively. Approval is not guaranteed.
- The grant is paid after the project. Up to 50 % of it is available as an advance after approval and project start.
- The programme accepts applications until 31 Dec 2026. Whether it continues in 2027 is open.
